Clay Center Announces 2026 Line-Up for the Cecil I. Walker Jazz Series

CHARLESTON, WV (February 6, 2026) - The Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences of WV is pleased to announce the return of the Cecil I. Walker Jazz Series. The series is back for its highly anticipated third year, bringing a dynamic roster of world-class jazz artists to the Clay Center. This year’s line-up promises to deliver an exceptional mix of legendary icons, emerging talents, and genre-defying performances that will captivate jazz enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

The 2026 Cecil I. Walker Jazz Series will include the following shows:

Stephane Wrembel - February 26

Karen Briggs - April 3

Hot 8 Brass Band - May 21

Lao Tizer Band & Guests - June 11

The Clay Center is offering a discounted $80 subscription to the full series. The subscription benefits include more than a 15% total discount on tickets and special subscriber benefits. Subscriptions can be purchased at https://secure.theclaycenter.org/packages/fixed/88.

“The Cecil I. Walker Jazz Series celebrates all styles of jazz, such as Dixieland, Swing, and Fusion,” said Al Najjar, Clay Center President and CEO. “We launched the series two years ago, and thanks to funding from Cecil I. Walker Charitable Trust, we’re able to continue it in 2026. We host the concerts cabaret-style on the Maier Foundation Performance Hall stage, where the ambience and acoustics create the perfect setting.”

The Cecil I. Walker Jazz Series is supported by the Cecil I. Walker Charitable Trust. The Clay Center’s performing arts and visual arts offerings are presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture, and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts.
