Marketing Coordinator
SUMMARY: The Marketing Coordinator will support the marketing team in developing and implementing strategic and targeted campaigns to maintain and expand the Clay Center’s audience. This position will coordinate resources to create effective marketing campaigns that can be measured through attendance, memberships, subscriptions, public exposure, earned media, and visitor surveys.
SALARY RANGE: $32,000 - $35,000
REQUIREMENTS:
Assist in the development of long-term and short-term marketing communication plans including strategies, goals, budgets, and tactics for the Clay Center’s events, programs, and performances.
Liaison with various internal resources to create exciting, accurate, and timely promotion of the Clay Center’s offerings.
Assist in collaborations with all external partners, including 84Agency, advertising firms, etc.
Assist in the Clay Center’s local outreach and community engagement initiatives (Tourism Day at the Legislature, FestivALL, etc.)
Implement social media strategies and tactics across all Clay Center channels.
Monitor social media trends, new platforms, and the competitive landscape to make solid recommendations supported with thoughtful, clearly articulated justification and data.
Support in the management of the Clay Center’s website content (text, images, videos, links) to ensure current and correct information.
Support the development, execution, and reporting of media relations strategies, seeking placements in print, broadcast, and online media.
Attend events to coordinate social media coverage and on-site promotion.
Manage donation requests (passes, memberships, etc.) handling all correspondence, processing, and tracking.
Become an active ambassador to increase Clay Center awareness among various audiences and the community.

Development Associate

REQUIREMENTS:
Highly organized; excellent oral and written communications skills; broad applications of computer and software skills; strong interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, etc.) and comfortable learning new technology systems; experience with The Raiser’s Edge a definite plus.
Three years of professional experience preferred. Demonstrated experience in computer programs and applications; 2 years experience in a position requiring daily use of a database is desirable.

Summer Camp Internship
The NASA WV Space Grant Consortium and the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of WV would like to announce student opportunities for summer internships.
If you are a student in a field related to space (any academic discipline or field of study including the physical, natural and biological sciences, and engineering, space technology, education, economics, sociology, communications, planning, law, international affairs and public administration) who is eager for new experiences that will add to your personal and professional development, then this internship is perfect for you!
Title: Clay Center Summer Camp Internship
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:30AM – 4:30PM (with hour lunch)
Start Date: Monday, June 1, 2026
End Date: Friday, August 7, 2026
Stipend: $8,200
Job Description: Clay Center Summer Camp Intern will assist students ages 4-14 at various knowledge and experience levels in a variety of hands-on activities. Summer camps include topics such as chemistry, maker/DIY, art, exploring the outdoors and more. Persons who are working who are self-motivated, willing to quickly learn new skills, and have experience working with children will receive priority consideration.
Eligibility:
U.S. Citizenship required.
18 years or older

Discovery Leader
SUMMARY: Discovery Leaders will provide exceptional customer service at the Clay Center by encouraging visitors to interact with museum experiences, engaging them in programs and demonstrations, and assisting them throughout their visit. They will also assist in the maintenance and upkeep of all exhibit galleries.
PAY: $13.50 per hour

Guest Services Representative
SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide all guests with a positive initial experience at the Clay Center. This experience is created by providing guests with accurate event information, assisting them in purchasing and/or picking up tickets to Clay Center events as well as daily museum admission. This position interacts with a variety of constituents and works with all other staff of the Clay Center & WV Symphony Orchestra to maintain a high level of guest service. Employee must exercise some independent judgment and initiative.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to develop a growing knowledge of ticketing software systems. Experience with MS Office.
Capability of communicating positively with guests to establish their needs efficiently and courteously.
Skill to handle cash responsibly and accurately.
Ability to work as a member of a team.

Café Attendant
SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide excellent customer service while serving patrons of Curiosity Café and making sure guests have a positive dining experience. The Café Attendant will perform daily duties such as: stocking and prepping food options, cashing out patrons and managing the register, maintaining a clean dining area by busing tables and returning trays and utensils, and assist patrons with any dining needs. The Café attendant may also assist in seating and serving guest for special events and evening performances as scheduled.
PAY: $13.50 per hour
REQUIREMENTS:
One to two years related experience preferred
Ability to articulate well and communicate positively with guests
Skill to handle cash responsibly and accurately.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
