“If this is any indication of what Old Crow Medicine Show still has in store so many recordings in its career, we should count ourselves lucky.” – NPR Music
Old Crow Medicine Show got their start busking on street corners in 1998, from New York state and up through Canada, winning audiences along the way with their boundless energy and spirit. They eventually found themselves in Boone, North Carolina, where they caught the attention of folk icon Doc Watson while playing in front of a pharmacy. He invited the band to perform at MerleFest, and the rest is history.
More than twenty years later, Old Crow Medicine Show remains one of the most influential and celebrated acts in Americana music. The band has been inducted as members of the Grand Ole Opry and has earned two Grammy Awards, including “Best Folk Album” for Remedy (2014) and “Best Long Form Music Video” for Big Easy Express (2013).
Their signature hit, Wagon Wheel, earned Double-Platinum certification from the RIAA in 2019 for sales exceeding 2 million copies, while the band’s debut album O.C.M.S. has been certified Gold. Their latest Grammy-nominated album, Jubilee, was released in August 2023 via ATO Records.
The band is also preparing to release their highly anticipated new album, Union Made, on June 5 via Hartland Records and Firebird Music. Produced by longtime bandmember Morgan Jahning and recorded in the band’s East Nashville studio, the album reflects on the people, places, and stories shaping America ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The debut single, “My Side Of The Mountain,” is a collaboration between bandleader Ketch Secor, Molly Tuttle, and Luke Combs, and features bluegrass legends Del McCoury and Ronnie McCoury. The project also includes guest appearances from artists including Maggie Rose, Evan Felker, Jesse Welles, John Carter Cash, and Ana Cristina Cash.
Inspired by the band’s nearly 30-year journey from the street corners of Western North Carolina to some of the country’s most celebrated stages, Union Made serves as a love letter to America’s past, present, and future — blending old-time, folk, bluegrass, and mountain music traditions into a distinctly modern sound.
Established in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, Palmyra captures the collective spirit of three Virginia natives: Teddy Chipouras, Mānoa Bell, and Sasha Landon. The trio straddles multiple musical worlds — rooted in the South with traditional instrumentation and ties to the old-time music hub of Floyd, Virginia, while also exploring themes of grief, gender dysphoria, identity, and coming of age through songs that touch on soul, post-rock, and emo influences.
The band’s first full-length LP, Restless, is out now on Oh Boy Records. Framed by moments of struggle, solidarity, and hard-won growth, Restless resonates with listeners drawn to the intersection of indie rock energy and raw folk storytelling.
