The Princess Bride: An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes Coming to the Clay Center in Charleston, WV on June 13, 2026
CHARLESTON, WV (December 1, 2025) - The Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences of West Virginia is thrilled to announce that The Princess Bride: An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes will arrive in Charleston on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 7:30 PM.
Prepare to journey back to the fantastical lands of Florin and Guilder with The Princess Bride’s very own hero, Cary Elwes (Westley). This special evening will feature a full screening of the beloved 1987 classic followed by a moderated discussion with Elwes, who will share behind-the-scenes stories and personal anecdotes from the making of one of the most beloved films in cinema history.
Fans will delight in an “inconceivable” evening filled with fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, chases, rodents of unusual size, near escapes, miracles, and of course — true love.
Elwes, whose career spans film and television favorites such as Seinfeld, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Saw, Twister, Liar Liar, Stranger Things, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, continues to captivate audiences worldwide. He recently completed work on Gus Van Sant’s Dead Man’s Wire and the upcoming series M.I.A., produced by the creative team behind Ozark. Elwes is also set to star in Very Young Frankenstein, a pilot project with Academy Award–winning talents Taika Waititi and Mel Brooks.
A limited number of VIP packages will be available, offering fans the ultimate experience — the best seats in the house, a private meet and greet with Cary Elwes, and a signed copy of his New York Times bestselling book, As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride.
