Families Invited to Build Together at the Great Charleston Domino Challenge on August 15

CHARLESTON, WV (July 24, 2026) – The Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences of West Virginia invites families to experience an afternoon of creativity, collaboration, and hands-on fun during the Great Charleston Domino Challenge on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Included with museum admission, the Great Charleston Domino Challenge gives families the opportunity to work together on a large-scale domino chain reaction that will span the Grand Lobby of the Clay Center. Starting at 12:00 PM, each group will plan and build its own section of the community domino course. Each section will connect with the next, forming a massive community installation.

At 3:00 PM, participants and spectators will gather for the highly anticipated community knockdown, where they will watch the finished display's chain reaction unfold, celebrating creativity, problem-solving, engineering, and teamwork.

Adding to the excitement, local domino and plank artist Vinny Franck will spend the week leading up to the event creating an art installation that will serve as the centerpiece for the community build. This piece will also be on display on August 15 as the community works on its own domino creation.

Whether you're a first-time builder or experienced domino enthusiast, the Great Charleston Domino Challenge offers a memorable opportunity for families and friends to create something extraordinary together.
