SCI Talk: Habitability - The Search for a Perfect World
With new planets being discovered every day, humanity is well into the search for a world that meets all the criteria needed for life. But what exactly are those criteria? What makes a world potentially habitable, and how do we search for signs of life? What exactly is 'life' anyway? Explore the fascinating topics of planetary science and astrobiology, learning about planets and moons that could possibly be host to alien life, including a few that might be closer than you think.
This presentation is led by our Planetarium and Science Educator, Shannon Silverman, who studies high-energy astrophysics with a particular focus on neutron stars. She is a graduate of the University of North Dakota and the University of North Florida.
