SCI Talk: Black Holes: Beyond the Event Horizon
Black Holes are some of the most famous and well-known objects in astronomy, but they’re also some of the most mysterious. But what exactly ARE black holes? How do they form, and why? What lies within them, past the point where even light can’t escape? Explore some of the theoretical models of black holes, the reality of what we’ve observed, and the many questions yet to be answered.
This presentation is led by our Planetarium and Science Educator, Shannon Silverman, who studies high-energy astrophysics with a particular focus on neutron stars. She is a graduate of the University of North Dakota and the University of North Florida.
