Respect: A Tribute to Aretha Franklin presented by WV Symphony

The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) announces the cancellation of Michael Bolton: Symphony Sessions that was to be co-presented with the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences of WV on Tuesday, May 3. The final show of the ZMM Architects and Engineers Pops Series will be replaced with a performance of Respect: A Tribute to Aretha Franklin on Saturday, May 7 at 7:30 pm at the Clay Center.

Respect: A Tribute to Aretha Franklin celebrates the singer, icon, and activist for an evening of soulful music. Talented vocalists, including two-time Grammy award winner Tamika Lawrence, will take the stage alongside the WVSO to perform Ms. Franklin’s anthology of hits which led to eighteen Grammy awards and a designation from Rolling Stone as “the greatest singer of all time”.

The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra is a professional orchestra that performs over 50 concerts annually around the state of West Virginia, and has a nationally award-winning education program.
