Clay Center BLOCK PARTY!

A joyful, outdoor celebration to kick off the summer season. The plaza transforms into a festival space filled with big trucks, music, bubbles, rockets, games, and hands-on activities. This community-centered event invites families to play, explore, and celebrate together.

Outside in the front plaza, guests can explore an exciting lineup of:

  • Big trucks and other vehicles from community partners like the Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority, Kanawha County Public Library, V100, Kanawha Stone Company, Charleston Fire Department, and Charleston Police Department

  • Live music from Mark Davis from Vinyl Village

  • Hands-on activities like rocket launches, sidewalk painting, and bubbles

Inside the building, families will find:

  • Special games and interactive experiences designed to spark creativity and fun

In the Susan Runyan Maier Sculpture Garden, attendees can experience artistic demos of:

  • Painting by Jeff Pierson

  • Pottery by Jessie McClanahan

  • Letterpress by Basecamp Printing Co.

  • Relief Printing by Mateo Fuentes

  • Tote Bags by Lindsay Miranda

All activities are included with museum admission.
