Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab – Member Preview
January 20 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab is the latest exhibit that will make its way to the Clay Center and will open to the public on January 21st!
Clay Center members may join us on Friday, January 20 for our special member preview of Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab where, in addition to providing an early look at this exhibit, we will also have special demonstrations exploring the science of light, host a hands-on thaumatrope workshop, and challenge you with a scavenger hunt based on the inventions of Thomas Edison that will run through all three levels of the museum! We will also feature two showings of the film ‘Dream Big: Engineering Our World’ narrated by Jeff Bridges in the Caperton Planetarium and Theater.
Based on one of the most admired inventors of all time – Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab shows kids how fun science can be! This STEAM based comedy adventure series engages kids in a fun and entertaining way to encourage them to be adventurous, inquisitive, creative and enterprising. The exhibit invites Clay Center visitors to join the fun through interactive exploration of exciting educational topics that promote science, technology, engineering and math.
Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab offers unique, hands-on experiences that introduce STEAM concepts, builds enthusiasm for related education careers, and highlights some of the greatest scientists and innovators from history who have inspired us all through their ground-breaking discoveries.
This exhibit is presented with support from the Daywood Foundation and the Bernard H. & Blanche E. Jacobson Foundation.
