Observations: Through the Eyes of the Collectors Club

November 29, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Observations
Through the Eyes of the Collectors Club
Exhibit reception and talk October 29th, 2017, 5:30-7:30pm

Observations opened at the Juliet Art Museum in September and features figurative works that have been purchased for the museum collection by the Collectors Club.

Recognizing that the former Sunrise Museum lacked a budget for acquisition of art, a group of enthusiastic art lovers organized the Collectors Club in 1986. Their sole purpose was to raise funds and acquire art with the guidance of the Curator for the museum’s permanent collection.   This exhibit is a selection of works that have been added to the collection through the dedication of the Collectors Club members, including work by Pablo Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, Chuck Close, Edward Hopper, and William Kentridge.

Please join us for an evening with Collectors Club members as they tell the stories behind the work, studio visits, and trips that contributed to the Juliet Art Museum permanent collection.
