JASON ISBELL AND THE 400 UNIT
with special guest Bully
Tuesday, August 23, 2022
7:30PM
Jason Isbell and his band, the 400 Unit, will be performing in the Maier Foundation Performance Hall at the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 7:30pm.
Jason Isbell has established himself as one of the most respected and celebrated songwriters of his generation. The North Alabama native possesses an incredible penchant for identifying and articulating some of the deepest, yet simplest, human emotions, and turning them into beautiful poetry through song. Isbell sings of the everyday human condition with thoughtful, heartfelt, and sometimes brutal honesty.
In October 2021, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit released a special new covers album, Georgia Blue. The record consists of new versions of thirteen songs with ties to the state, including tracks originally recorded by Georgia natives R.E.M., Drivn’ N’ Cryin’, James Brown, Cat Power, Precious Bryant, Otis Redding, The Black Crowes, Indigo Girls, Now It’s Overhead, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Allman Brothers Band and Vic Chesnutt.
This performance is presented with support from Roger L. Nicholson and Rory & Kim Isaac. The Clay Center’s performing arts and visual arts offerings are presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture, and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts.
