The Clay Center and West Virginia State University are excited to partner in the presentation of a collaborative art exhibition curated by the students in WVSU’s Arts Management capstone class. In this exhibition, students select works from the Juliet Art Museum’s permanent collection after careful research. Then, they develop the exhibition’s themes and interpretation, as well as design their own marketing materials. They plan the exhibition layout and participate in installation, all the while keeping track of the budget and administrative tasks. Over the course of the semester, students will learn about the different functions of an accredited art museum, including the roles of the curatorial team, marketing, development, education, and visitor experience.
The West Virginia University Collaborative Exhibition is presented with support from The Elliot Family Foundation, Daywood Foundation, Herscher Foundation, Inc. and the Bernard H. & Blanche E. Jacobson Foundation.
