Clay Center Garden

The Education Garden is a growing gallery featuring many interactive stops. The vegetables are planted by students from Piedmont Elementary and the harvest is donated to Manna Meal Soup Kitchen.  The flowers in the pollinator garden were planted by the After School Explorers Club and attract many beneficial insects to the garden.  This outdoor gallery teaches how easy it is to grow healthy food in a small space!

Thanks to Ms. Jensen's class at Piedmont Elementary School for their help starting seeds that grew into over 200 pounds of produce for Manna Meal in the 2015 garden!

The Clay Center garden project received a 2012 Youth Garden Grant Award from the National Gardening Association and has received a community award from Kroger for community involvement in 2013. The Clay Center Gardens have also been added to Charleston’s East End Garden Showcase.
