Clay Center Garden

Our education gardens are blooming to life this spring with flowers in our pollinator garden and veggies starting in our organic vegetable garden. We’ve already got beans, carrots, lettuce and radishes sprouting, and students from our partner school, Piedmont Elementary, started seeds which will soon be transplanted to our outdoor beds. Look for tomatoes, green peppers, squash and more coming soon!

Thanks to Ms. Jensen's class at Piedmont Elementary School for their help in raising over 250 pounds of produce for Manna Meal with our 2013 garden. We’re looking to top that in 2014!

The Clay Center garden project received a 2012 Youth Garden Grant Award from the National Gardening Association and has now received a community award from Kroger for community           involvement in 2013. The Clay Center Gardens have also been added to Charleston’s East End Garden Showcase.
