ELECTRICSKY™ THEATER FAQ
What is the ElectricSky™ Theater?
Showing giant screen films and planetarium shows, the Spitz ElectricSky™, the most flexible, versatile system of its kind, immerses the viewer in wide format video, brilliant laser graphics imagery and multi dimensional sound. Powered by the latest generation of desktop graphics and video production tools, ElectricSky™ utilizes ImmersaVision™ Video Panorama and ancillary equipment to accommodate a broad array of exciting performances and attractions. The theater seats 175.
What makes giant screen films so special?
The actual film of a giant screen film is larger than the 35mm film shown in movie cinemas such as Park Place or Marquee. The size of the film is significant because there is no other way to fill a screen 60' large with a bright, sharp steady picture. Giant screen films use significantly more film area than the 35mm, allowing for less magnification of the image. The less the magnification the better the image.
How big is the ElectricSky™ Theater's screen?
Our theater has a domed screen 61' in diameter and it is tilted forward 20%. This allows us to immerse our visitor in the film experience by filling the visitors peripheral vision with image.
Is the ElectricSky™ Theater an IMAX® theater?
No. IMAX® is a particular brand name and uses 15/70 film. Although IMAX® theaters use large format film and have giant screens too, the ElectricSky™ theater employs a different brand of equipment. It would be like calling a Pepsi soft drink Coca Cola. There are similarities but it is not the same.
