This is the first year Friends of Clay Center have highlighted a “science” theme. The timing couldn’t be more perfect with the Caperton Planetarium and Theater renovations and new Sculpture Climber which allows children to explore and experience the museum space from dizzying new heights.
As musicians, visual artists, performers, designers, builders, explorers and scientists have looked to the heavens with wonder for ages, so will you at Carnaval SUPERNOVA! Gaze upon the moon and dream of the stories of the sky that inspire astrologists and mythologists alike. Contemplate the endless depths and possibilities of space. Let your imagination expand beyond galaxies and stars to the distance between dancers and the time between musical notes. Ziggy Stardust. Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 Space Odyssey. Sip a Champagne Supernova with Oasis.
Enjoy an open bar, complementary valet parking, live entertainment and more as you dance the night away. Taste out-of-this world hors d'eouvres and bid on stellar auction items at this highly-anticipated annual gala to benefit the Clay Center and The Charleston Ballet educational programs.
Another sell-out year is expected. Purchase early bird tickets online or call 304-561-3570.

Black tie optional or creative cocktail attire.
