Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag to premiere on Clay Center’s giant screen July 10
(Charleston, W.Va.) 06/28/10 – Get ready for the ride of your life in a high-flying, action-packed adventure as the Clay Center debuts the new giant screen film, Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag. The film premieres in the ElectricSkyTM Theater Saturday, July 10. Show times will be Wednesday through Sunday at noon, 1, 3 and 4 p.m. The film will not be shown on Sunday, July 11.
Captain John Stratton is a young American fighter pilot, determined to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, a decorated World War II flying ace. He joins the world’s best pilots at Red Flag – the most challenging training exercise for the U.S. and its allies. The film follows Capt. Stratton in his F-15 Eagle as he undertakes Red Flag’s treacherous and immensely complicated training. His childhood vision of heroism widens as he witnesses the teamwork of his ground crew and other pilots, ensuring a successful mission and a safe return home.
The film showcases some of the world’s top military aircrafts ranging from bomber, fighter and attack aircrafts to planes used for aerial refueling and airlift support. The intense combat these aircrafts and their pilots come across is highlighted by the film’s captivating cinematography.
Director and producer Stephen Low states, “So many films on fighter aircraft essentially fake the interaction between the planes using a lot of quick cutting, simulated cockpit photography and special effects. Working with the Air Force made it possible for us to shoot actual dog-fighting for the first time between a dozen aircraft at once. Altogether we were working with more than one hundred aircraft of all types. This is the closest an audience will ever get to flying in the middle of a massive air combat operation.”
