Clay Center announces upcoming performance season with a new spin
(Charleston, W.Va.) 5/17/10 – The Clay Center Presents headliner performers, Peter Frampton and The B-52s & Blondie this fall along with four regular season shows, which are packed full of excitement with everything from powerful dance and insightful comedy to outstanding pop, R&B and jazz music from legendary stars.
The upcoming Clay Center Presents Fall 2010 season offers four incredible performances:
• Chick Corea Trio, Sunday, Sept. 26, 7:30 p.m. – Corea, a 16-time Grammy award winner and accomplished piano player, has teamed up with bassist Christian McBride and drummer Brian Blade to present a concert that is sure to have audiences moving to the tempo of their upbeat sound.
• David Sedaris, Friday, Oct. 8, 8 p.m. – The best-selling author of When You Are Engulfed in Flames and Me Talk Pretty One Day delivers a style of humor that will have you squirming in discomfort and doubling over with laughter.
• Step Afrika!, Friday, Oct. 29, 8 p.m. – They will stomp, clap, slap, smack and snap all across the stage. Join the first professional company in the world dedicated to the tradition of stepping.
• Dionne Warwick, Friday, Dec. 3, 8 p.m. – This multiple-Grammy winning artist will deliver such hits as “That’s What Friends Are For,” “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again” and “Walk On By.”
Special add-on events include:
• Peter Frampton, Thursday, Aug. 5, 8 p.m. –This legendary rock guitarist will blow audiences away with such hits as “I’m In You,” “I Can’t Stand It No More” and “Do You Feel Like We Do?” in an evening of thrilling guitar solos, romantic piano ballads and all-around great music.
• The B-52s & Blondie, Tuesday, Aug. 24, 8 p.m. – The B-52s will showcase its trademark quirky style in such songs as “Rock Lobster” and the ultimate party hit “Love Shack.” Blondie will perform its unique style of music with such hits as “Heart of Glass” and “Call Me.”
This year, the Clay Center Presents will have two separate seasons. The all-new spring lineup and season packages will be announced later in the year.
Subscribing to the new season is easy and more affordable than ever. Season ticket holders get exclusive benefits, including the chance to buy the best seats before the general public for the fall add-on performances, advanced priority notice about any new performances and priority renewal for the spring season. Plus, season ticket holders get a discount off of the single ticket prices of season shows. A season package is available for as low as $60.
Only season ticket holders have an exclusive opportunity to buy tickets for special events Peter Frampton and The B-52s & Blondie before single tickets go on sale to the general public. To become a season ticket holder, patrons must purchase tickets to all four regular season shows.

The deadline for renewing season ticket holders to receive seating priority is May 28 at 6 p.m. New season ticket holders will be seated beginning June 1. Single tickets for all Clay Center Presents Fall 2010 performances will go on sale Monday, June 28 at 10 a.m.
