Clay Center and Charleston Light Opera Guild co-present all-American musical Grease
Unforgettable production will delight audiences of all ages

(Charleston, W.Va.) 7/10/08 – Relive the sock hops, poodle skirts, ducktails and drive-ins with the biggest rock ‘n’ roll party of the summer when the Clay Center and Charleston Light Opera Guild co-present the fun-loving musical Grease. There will be six performances starting Friday, July 25 at 7:30 p.m.

This story about a good girl, a greaser and the shenanigans of the class of ’59 has entertained fans of all ages for more than 30 years. It begins with Sandy and Danny as they share a summer romance and end up at the same high school. Sandy’s good girl ways don’t fit in with the attitude of Danny and his too-cool-for-school friends. With famous songs like “You’re the One That I Want,” “Hopelessly Devoted To You,” “Hand Jive” and “We Go Together,” Grease will have audiences singing all the way home.

The show features a cast of 27, including Jennifer Arnold as Sandy and Mitchel Kawash as Danny. The production is under the direction and choreography of Nina Denton Pasinetti with musical direction by Bobby Hodges and technical direction by Tom Pasinetti.

Grease is sponsored by Mrs. Alex Schoenbaum and Charleston Area Medical Center. The first 150 guests at each performance will receive a free t-shirt, compliments of show sponsors Dr. Richard L. and Dr. Edward E. Howard Family & Cosmetic Dentistry.

“We have such great talent in this community, and this is a great opportunity for it to be displayed,” said Mrs. Alex Schoenbaum. “It is such a thrill to be a part of it.”
