2010-2011 Woody Hawley Concert Series line-up announced

 

(Charleston, W.Va.) 5/17/10 – The 2010-2011 Woody Hawley Concert Series will bring some of the most celebrated singer-songwriters to perform at the Clay Center. Guests can relax with friends in an intimate, cabaret-style setting and experience fine musicianship and outstanding vocal talent.

 

All shows take place on Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and feature a local opening act.  The location of each show is Walker Theatre, unless otherwise noted. The complete line-up includes:

 

·         Tim O’Brien and Bryan Sutton, Oct. 9, 2010, Co-presented by FOOTMAD, On-stage event in Maier Foundation Performance HallGarnering numerous awards and widespread acclaim, O’Brien and Sutton will showcase everything from traditional bluegrass to their own distinctive compositions.

·         Muriel Anderson with Tierra Negra, Nov. 20, 2010 – A renowned American harp-guitarist will come together with a long established duo of Flamenco guitarists for a show that is not only entertaining but genuinely awe-inspiring.

·         Hank Williams Tribute, Jan. 8, 2011, On-stage event in Maier Foundation Performance Hall – Be sure to catch John Lilly, Rob McNurlin, Buddy Griffin and more in this unforgettable show honoring the memory of the iconic Hank Williams.

·         Susan Werner, Feb. 5, 2011 – Join this talented musician as she displays her effortless transitions from folk to jazz to pop, all with her own unique touch.

·         Paul Thorn, March 12, 2011, On-stage event in Maier Foundation Performance Hall – Journey to the heartland of Mississippi on a wave of blues, country, gospel and rock as this superb entertainer takes the stage with his arsenal of story-telling songs.

·         Darrell Scott, May 14, 2011, On-stage event in Maier Foundation Performance HallCome hear what The Tennessean calls “one of the most soulful voices in Nashville” when this brilliant singer-songwriter shows why he’s country music’s go-to man.

 

Patrons who purchase tickets to all seven shows receive a 10 percent discount. Series subscriptions are $113.50 for adults and $94.50 for seniors and students.
